We don’t just want our guests to enjoy our world now. But also in the future. That is why we are committed to running our business with attention to people and the environment. Quite logical, really. Because if you have an eye for the world, you also have an eye for the environment. It’s in our DNA. We take measures in areas such as energy consumption, waste management and responsible purchasing. We are therefore proud to hold the Green Key certificate, an international sustainability certification for the recreation and hospitality sector.

Water for Water

Contributing to access to clean drinking water

With our own Water for Water project, we contribute to the realisation of clean drinking water in places where this is not self-evident. For every litre of chilled and purified house water that we serve our guests, we make a contribution to the Made Blue Foundation. This means that for every litre, we provide 1,000 times as much clean water in countries where there is a permanent water shortage, such as Uganda, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast and Senegal. With every 1,000 litres, ten families (50 people) have access to safe and healthy water for a whole day for eating, drinking and cooking.

Hotels for Trees

Our guests plant trees

In collaboration with Hotels for Trees, guests of Kontakt der Kontinenten can participate in the Hotels for Trees programme and have the CO2 emissions of their overnight stay or meeting (partially) compensated. Hotel guests can have the room cleaning omitted. For every room we don’t clean, one new tree is planted through Hotels for Trees.

Meeting bookers can have an appropriate number of trees planted, depending on the number of participants in the meeting. In this way, guests can contribute to this initiative.

The Good Roll

Let’s make the world less shitty

The Good Roll’s mission? Safe and clean toilets for everyone. At various places within Kontakt der Kontinenten, we use hygienic paper from The Good Roll, made from recycled paper or bamboo and packaged without plastic.
